Doug Downey

Artist Statement:

My inspiration comes from the rugged beauty of nature.  Not to copy, but to simplify and interpret.  By going to nature and zeroing in on one little spot, from all she has to offer, I try to capture the intimacy of that one moment in time.  That statement rendered on location may be all that is necessary to say, or an idea to be expanded upon later in the studio.
